Oil paint is a medium that allows an artist to immerse themselves in the details. In Vandy’s case, this is quite literal: she goes well above and beyond the amount of details she can put in an oil painting. Vandy discovered artistic creation through oil painting; as such, it has become one of her artistic mediums of choice over time. On the other side, watercolor and inks are the mediums through which Vandy can explore spontaneity. Her collections of watercolor works are an homage to impulsivity, where accidents become artworks and where light pushed through each brushstroke. Artistic control disappears, letting liberty, movement and emotions take center stage.
